This year, I trained. I went on practice runs, and tracked my heart rate. I ran hills and adjusted to running outside in the cold. I pictured myself, time and time again, holding up my turkey trot trophy.

And yet.

Twas the night before the trot. 11:00pm. I had just returned from a Friendsgiving, and was ready for a good 7 hours of sleep before the big day. I was mentally and physically prepared... or so I thought. I crawled into bed, closed my eyes, and...no! NOOOOOO!

I sat up with a jolt, my head spinning. This couldn't be happening to me. Tonight???? Of all nights???

I called my mom "come quick" i told her, "and bring a trash can."

Yes, folks.

I had food poisoning.

As the night progressed, I watched my dreams of running a Trot, go right into the trash can, along with my food.

A dream that only comes once everye 365 days. A dream that will now have to wait.

I'm sure you've all been wondering why I've been so silent recently. Why I haven't updated you.

Well, here it is. Here is my awful, disgusting secret.

I'll never get over this disastrous holiday.
