Theatre Kid Fall

Sitting here watching Beetle Juice (Betelgeuse) right now thinking about how although Halloween isn't quite upon us, we can use musicals to slowly tiptoe in that direction...

Although I love the classic Halloween movies like Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown, they are incredibly "October."

This September, I suggest tapping into your inner thespian and binging some eccentric freaky musicals to edge us into this spooky season.

I'm not going to explain any of the plots of these musicals so you will have to pick one to watch based on title vibe.

1. Of course my first suggestion has to be The Rocky Horror Picture Show (and its totally not because I am assistant directing a production of the cult classic at my school............)

2. Sweeney Todd

3. Little Shop of Horrors

4. The Phantom of the Opera

5. Carrie

6. American Psycho,,, the musical

7. Heathers

8. The Addams Family

9. Beetlejuice (especially with the new one otw)

If you don't have time to stream any of these at least check out the soundtracks. They're wild and vibrant
