What Better Way To Escape Finals Stress Than By Dressing Up As Santa?????

Tis the night before Santacon...........

Once every December, in the midst of finals, college kids in New York take the day off of crying, writing, and cramming, to dress up as Santa and get drunk in Manhattan. When I say 'dress up as Santa,' I truly mean it. Not just the hat, not just the beard. New Yorkers put on the full suit, boots and all and join hands on the 6 train.

The legendary Santacon event is a single day of festivities. The tradition began in the early 2000s as a mere pub crawl to spread holiday cheer. Now, it is so much more.

This December marks my third year in New York and I have yet to partake in a Santacon. For the last two years, I've spent my December 9th locked away doing 100 hours on quizlet. But not this year. This year I am strapping on my gloves and trekking downtown with all my peers. As nervous as I may be, I am excited for this bright and eventful day ahead of me. I will keep you guys updated!
